Theme
The theme is EMC-simulations, methods and strategies. We have gathered 3 highly competent external presenters that will give you an introduction to various parts of simulations within EMC.

PEMC Software Tool
Associated professor, Pooya Davari, AAU Energy, will give an update on the PEMC software tool (Power electronics software tool for ElectroMagnetic interference pre-Compliance.)

PEMC is a unique power electronic system EMI simulator to predict and model in wide range of topologies/applications. This presentation will address the main modular design concept behind the tool including the recent updates to the components database.

Dr. Pooya Davari joined Aalborg University, in 2014, as a Postdoc, and he is currently an Associate Professor. He has been focusing on EMI, power quality and harmonic mitigation analysis and control in power electronic systems. He has published more than 160 technical papers.

3D full wave simulation of EMC
EM Simulation Engineer, Henrik Kryh, will introduce Full Wave EMC-Simulations in 3D and give some tips on how to get started. Using simulations throughout the product design cycle will increase confidence and reduce risk. Introducing more simulations in a company will be a learning journey, but the first step is to get started. The second part of the presentation is  a live demo of different simulation examples.

Henrik works as an EM Simulation Engineer at TECHNIA in Gothenburg, Sweden. He is certified by Dassault Systèmes to give technical support on their 3D EM Simulation tool: ‘CST Studio Suite’, and he also gives training to CST customers within Europe.

LT Spice simulation of EMC-related problems
Field Application Engineer, Thomas Ginell, Analog Devices, will introduce LT Spice and how to use the tool to predict EMC-performance. LTspice is a circuit simulator with schematic editor, simulator and waveform viewer. LTspice can be used to predict EMI properties of eg. power supplies, especially regarding conducted EMI and be useful to determine necessary filtering.

Thomas Ginell is working as a field applications engineer in Stockholm Sweden. He joined Linear Technology in 2005 which was acquired by Analog Devices in 2017. He has mostly been focused on analog signal chain and power design which both relates closely to EMC regarding performance and compliance.

Miscellaneous
Considerations about EMC-simulations and examples of full wave simulations from industry
Electrical and electronic engineers interpret EMC-simulations different depending on field of work.

Morten Sørensen, FORCE Technology, will introduce the theme with some general considerations about doing simulations within EMC. In addition, he will show a few examples of full wave simulations in the industry.

EMC Fundamentals
This time the EMC Fundamentals is about electrostatic discharge. As usual, the lecture includes a simple experiment.

Standardization news
No EMC Club meeting without standardization news from Per Thåstrup, FORCE Technology.

We are looking forward to meeting you in Århus or Hørsholm.

Kind Regards
EMC Klubben
