EMC Klubben: Printlayout og EMC. Aarhus

Kære medlem af EMC Klubben,

Hermed inviteres til marts måneds EMC-klubmøder.

Vi har fået henvendelser om klubmøder på engelsk, og da vi får besøg fra Storbritannien, har vi undtagelsesvis valgt at afholde dette møde på engelsk. Mødet i april bliver også på engelsk, og derefter vender vi tilbage til dansk igen. Vi vil meget gerne opfordre jer til at benytte lejligheden til at introducere dine ikke-dansktalende kollegaer til EMC Klubben.

High-speed PCB design

Steve Gascoigne, PCB Design and Analysis Expert, Siemens EDA, will explain how to bring clarity to your high-speed PCB designs and remove unnecessary re-spins. Demonstrating many levels of analysis from fast, automated review through interactive simulation to standards-based compliance analysis.

Steve uses HyperLynx which is a high-speed PCB design and verification system that combines ease of use with automated workflows to make high-speed PCB design analysis accessible to mainstream system designers. This allows problems to be identified and resolved early in the design cycle. HyperLynx works with multiple PCB tools and is an ideal addition to any PCB design flow for high-speed designs.

Steve has been a in electronics for nearly 40 years, beginning his career at Plessey Ltd in 1984. For more than 25 years he has been an application engineer with multiple EDA companies. Focusing primarily on high-speed design and simulation for most of that time.

PCB Production Fact or Fiction

Henrik Sørensen, CEO of PRI-DANA Elektronik A/S, will distinguish between facts and fiction regarding materials and processes today. What are the limits, and how does it affect prices?

Henrik graduated as an engineer from ‘Odense Teknikum.’ Subsequently, he worked as a teacher at Odense Teknikum in electrical engineering and circuit technology. He has been employed at PRI-DANA Electronics as a project engineer, later becoming production manager, and for the past 25 years, respectively, as technical director and CEO.

Basic EMC in PCB Layout

Morten Sørensen, FORCE Technology, will go through some basic EMC design guidelines for PCB layout, helping you avoid the most common errors that can lead to failures in radiated emission. The presentation will include the routing of high-speed signals, considerations for parasitic inductance, and a discussion of various design strategies for Ethernet PHY.

Introduction to KiCAD

Joachim Fisker, FORCE Technology, will give a short introduction to KiCAD which is an open-source software suite for electronic design automation (EDA) that facilitates the creation of schematics and printed circuit boards (PCBs). It offers a comprehensive set of tools for designing and prototyping electronic circuits.

News on Standardization and EMC Instruments

As usual, Per Thåstrup Jensen, FORCE Technology, will provide updates on standardization. This time, Morten Sørensen, FORCE Technology, will introduce the Time Domain Reflectometer (TDR) and explore its practical applications.
